Bouzov

Hrad Bouzov (Bouzov Castle) was originally a Gothic castle built at the beginning of the 14th century. After changing owners several times, the castle eventually fell into disrepair until it gained its present shape during an extensive reconstruction in 1895-1910. The reconstruction project and plans were delivered by Georg von Hauberisser based on the requirements and ideas of Archduke Eugen of Habsburg, who funded the construction from his private sources.

The Romantic reconstruction produced what would have been a perfect idea of a massive medieval residence, with several artistic styles, especially Gothic and Renaissance, intermingling.
