Maria Reiche Center

La Casa Museo Maria Reiche (Maria Reiche Museum) houses information on the studies of the Nazca lines and figures made by Dr. Maria Reiche, who studied the lines for most of her life. The museum also contains maps, drawings, photographs, archaeological material and didactic models of their designs. Reiche lived and worked on the site during her studies of the lines, and because of her campaigns to protect the lines, the goverment restricted public access and the lines were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.

Because of her love of and dedication to the lines, upon her death in 1998, Reiche was buried on the grounds of the museum.
